The Danish Straits by Helicopter
Six places to make the landing part of the day: a country inn on Funen, an island restaurant, a vineyard, a castle hotel, a manor stay and a rural escape.
The Little Belt, Great Belt and Øresund divide a landscape of islands, sheltered coasts and small rural destinations. This guide follows the Danish side of that landscape, from south Funen across Vejrø, Fejø and Lolland to the Øresund coast north of Copenhagen. It is a selective collection of places to visit, rather than a catalogue of every landing site in the region.
Start with the destination, then open its Helipaddy record and agree the visit with the host. The details that matter are often very local: which field is available, whether you must stay overnight, where the horses are, and whether the restaurant is serving on your chosen day. A listing or map marker does not grant landing permission.

Top places to land
Top 3 Lunch Spots by Helicopter

Falsled Kro — south Funen. Make time for lunch at this country inn near Helnæs Bay, where the kitchen puts its garden and seasonal ingredients at the centre of the menu. Book the table and the landing separately. Helipaddy’s notes describe a small landing area with nearby trees and ask for permission well in advance. Confirm the current approved area and suitability for your aircraft with the inn; photographs of previous visits are not a landing plan. Restaurant information.
Vejrø — Vejroe Gaya in Helipaddy — an island lunch. This is a destination to linger at, with the restaurant and seashore close to the landing spot. The Helipaddy notes identify a marked helipad between the restaurant and the water, and the island’s own arrival information also describes helicopter access beside its restaurants. Confirm which restaurant is open and arrange both your arrival and table with the island. Vejrø’s helicopter arrival information.
Hideaway Vingård — a vineyard on Fejø. A small seasonal restaurant, vineyard cabins and locally grown produce give this stop a different rhythm from a hotel lunch. The owner’s Helipaddy notes describe a large field bordered by tall trees and explicitly require the owner’s permission before landing. Confirm the field, restaurant opening and any overnight arrangements directly. The vineyard is a destination for the food and setting as well as the wine.
High-End / Special Occasion Stops

Kokkedal Slot Copenhagen — a castle stay near Øresund. The castle hotel gives the eastern end of this guide a natural overnight stop. Its landing notes make two points worth reading before you book: helicopter visitors must be guests, and the map marker is not the precise landing position. Arrange the arrival time and exact area with the hotel. The owner-supplied diagram highlights the horse stables west of the property; use the current host instructions rather than navigating to the pin alone.
Hidden Gems

Skrøbelev Gods — a manor stay on Langeland. A restored manor hotel on Langeland, with a gourmet restaurant and a reason to stay overnight. The estate advertises helicopter arrivals, but its Helipaddy record does not yet include landing instructions. Contact the estate before planning a flight to confirm whether independent helicopter guests are accepted, the exact landing area and any restrictions. Estate information.
Stemningsfuld landidyl Frederiksminde — a rural stay on Lolland. This is the farmhouse property on Lolland, not a similarly named hotel elsewhere in Denmark. The attraction is an unhurried overnight stay among trees, ponds and countryside. Its Helipaddy advice is explicit: landing is by prior permission and exclusively for overnight guests, with space adjacent to the farmhouse. Ask the host to identify the area to use and confirm the accommodation before planning the visit.
Make it your own trip
A lunch stop on Funen, an island visit and a night on Lolland could form the ingredients of a short break. Kokkedal adds a different finish on the Øresund coast. Choose the combination around the hosts’ availability and the time you want on the ground; the map is not an operational itinerary.
Use Helipaddy Me to get started, then follow the individual site links for the landing context. For another region to explore, see the West Scotland helicopter guide.
This guide deliberately focuses on private destinations where local landing notes add value. Research aerodromes, fuel, customs and NOTAMs using the appropriate official aviation sources. Before each visit, obtain the host’s permission and check the current site information, photographs and restrictions in Helipaddy.
